The cities.
San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dubai, New York, Hong Kong and London. Every one was filmed from the air rather than assembled from timelapse, so the camera moves the way a passenger would see it — down an avenue, around a tower, out across a harbour.
Height changes the film.
Each city appears from more than one vantage. Down an avenue the desktop moves constantly; from above, the same skyline is almost still. Choosing a city is only half of it — the vantage decides how much the desktop pulls at your attention while you work.
Reading the names.
Names follow the pattern the system uses: the place, then the vantage or the hour. London Thames and London from Above are the same city from different heights; San Francisco Fog is the bay when the marine layer comes in. Open any card above to see the route the camera takes before you set it.
